What does it train you for?
The Bachelor Degree Course in Viticulture and Enology is a three-year study course, for a total of 180 ECTS. It provides expertise on the sustainable management of the vineyard ecosystem, on the entire wine production process, on the qualitative evaluation of the products of the entire wine chain. In addition, the graduate extends his or her knowledge on the wine-growing and wine-producing sector regulations, the principles of business economics and marketing necessary for carrying out independent professional activities, such as the design and planning, development and management of wine companies.
What do you learn?
The student acquires the knowledge required to ensure an in-depth and critical understanding of the biology of the vine, the physical, chemical and biological quality of the soil, the planting of the vineyard and its agronomic management. Moreover, other issues explored include oenological technologies, chemo-physical, sensorial and microbiological analyses, industry regulations, business economics and marketing, development and management of plants and wine products.
What can you do with it?
Graduates in Viticulture and Enology will be qualified enologists, and they can carry out the profession both in Italy and in the EU, in the following areas:
- management, administration and consultancy in wineries for the planting and management of the vineyard; production and processing of grapes and derived products; marketing, communication and promotion of wine products
- microbiological, chemo-physical and sensorial analyses of grapes, musts and wines for quality control and for the enhancement of the nutraceutical constituents of the products; refinement, conservation, and bottling of wines
- registration in the Professional Order of Agronomists as a "Junior Agronomist" after the qualifying exams.
