This bachelor Degree in Town Planning and Urban Studies is a reworking of the town planning and territorial planning active in Italy since the end of the 1970s, in accordance with the most recent legal measures updated to future horizons. The Bachelor Degree trains experts in the analysis, research and representation of cities, natural environments and landscapes. The skills gained through this Bachelor Degree are required for the preparation of analyses aimed at acquiring knowledge of the territorial resources and their state of conservation, building stock (both historic and contemporary) and complex systems such as landscapes and environments.

The professional skills acquired by graduates in Town Planning and Urban Studies enable them to understand and interpret the historical transformation processes at work in cities and the wider territory. Other skills developed by graduates include the social, political and economic components which interact with city and territory layout, as well as knowledge of the use of Strategic Environmental Assessment tools (SEA) and the representation and management of the Geographic Information System, which are now some of the most sought after professional skills in local government.

The most natural follow-up for graduates is an MA in Urban, Regional and Environmental Planning. As far as job opportunities are concerned, the professional expertise acquired by graduates is the basis for the preparation process required for the urban, territorial, environmental and sectoral plans drawn up by the public administration (regions, municipalities, local authorities) or by private agencies, organisations and companies.
