The Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics was established in Italy with Presidential Decree 135 of 1980, in compliance with European Union directives 686/78 and 687/78. In this way, Italy's requirement for regulatory compliance with other EU member countries is met. From academic year 2009/2010 the 6-year Master's Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics was established. The primary objective of the Course is to train professionals who practice the full range of general dentistry with a holistic approach to oral health in healthy or sick patients. The Master's Degree Course includes 360 ECTS, at least 90 of which are acquired in professionalizing clinical activities to be combined with frontal teaching activities.
What do you learn?
The main goal of the Master Degree Single Cycle Program in Dentistry is to train graduates with competences and clinical expertise in providing oral care to patients. The students will learn basic dentistry such as oral physiology, oral pathology, endodontics, orthodontics, periodontology, implantology and oral surgery. Each subject is approached using clinical and theoretical notions, in order to give students a comprehensive education.
What can you do with it?
Graduates in Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics have job opportunities within the free profession of Dentistry in professional offices and clinics. They can also carry out level I and II management activities in the structures of the National Health Service.
